 In order to work towards attaining its vision and mission of Enabling Ghaziabad Organizations to become globally competitive and to Facilitate Organizations and Individuals realize their potential, Ghaziabad Management Association organized a competition on Best Practices in Quality Sustenance & Improvement Processes of Industries in Ghaziabad at Hotel Apple Tree on Saturday, 19th May 2018.

 

Six Industries took part in the event.  These were:

· Continental Carbon India Ltd.;

· International Tobacco Ltd.;

· Ghaziabad Precision Products Pvt. Ltd.;

· Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd.;

· Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd.;

· Unichem Laboratories Ltd.

All these companies presented their practices in the practices they follow for maintenance and further improvement in their Quality Management domain.

 

After the above six competitive entries were over, two other companies shared their practices in this domain.  These were:

· M/s Diagnostic Automation & Controls Ltd.; and

· M/s APK Identifications Ltd.

These are very precision oriented companies dealing in Instrumentation controls and in making Chip cards for Delhi Metro and other companies.

 

The presentations were judged by :

Mr. Virendra Kumar Gupta, an expert in Quality Systems, ISO, and has authored books on the subject;

Dr. S J Rao, Former CEO, Samcor Ltd. and Consultant, INcharge MDP Division, ABES Engineering College;

Mr. Satyavir S  Sharma, Principal Partner, System Dynamics – an expert in Operations Management.

 

The award winners were:

Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd. – Winner;

International Tobacco Ltd. – Runner Up;

Ghaziabad Precision Products Ltd – Special Prize.

 

After the presentations were over, a panel discussion with senior members of the Industry was organized where they put forth their view and concern on Quality maintenance and adherence.  Thereafter the audience put up questions to them for answers. The panelists were:

Mr. Sudhir Mohan Mittal, Director, Sukriti Vidyut Udyog Pvt. Ltd;

Mr. Sharad Aggarwal, Executive Director and Board Member, Godfrey Philips India Ltd; and

Mr. Jolly, Head of Quality, M/s. Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd.

 

The event saw a very good participation from delegates who comprised members from Industry, Faculty from Engineering/ Management Colleges.  Students could not attend the event as they were writing their University examinations.
